Biography

Kenneth S. Chang, Partner at Adsero IP. Ken was the founder and managing partner of his prior firm Kilpatrick Townsend’s Shanghai office for five years, and 15 years of dealing with IP in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2011 and 2019, he was regarded as a “Super Lawyer” in intellectual property litigation by Super Lawyers magazine.

Katherine Lobel-Rice, Ph.D., Partner at Adsero IP. Kathy has focused on patent prosecution in the fields of biotechnology and chemical arts for over a decade. She focuses on U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, patent portfolio management, freedom-to-operate assessments, non-infringement and invalidity assessments, licensing agreements, and due diligence reviews. She got her JD from University of Denver and Ph.D. in Pharmacology from University of Colorado.

Lu Yin, Counsel at Kilpatrick Townsend Shanghai Office. Lu Yin focuses his practice on electrical patent prosecution, including the preparation of patent applications and opinions in the fields of computer and Internet software, database, networking, semiconductors, telecommunication, integrated circuits, software, bioinformatics and other related technologies. He got his J.D from Harvard Law School and B.A. from University of Texas at Austin.

Derek Zhu, General Counsel at Smoore in Shenzhen. Derek graduated from PKU-STL in 2014, served as the founding Editor-in-Chief of the PKU Transnational Law Review and then advanced his study at Georgetown Law Center. He previously worked at WilmerHale, Shearman & Sterling, Zhonglun Shanghai, and the World Bank for several years. And recently he joined Smoore, a leading ODM/OEM manufacturer of various kinds of vaping products around the world. Smoore is also the leading supplier for the atomizer technology in the ENDS and Non-ENDS industry.
